Please note that accounts are disabled after 2 semesters or 1 year of inactivity and you will not be able to sign in.
*This process requires having the security questions and multi-step verification on your account set. If you are not sure of how to complete this step, please reply to this email stating that you need assistance with this process*
Directions to Password Reset Location
1) Click the following hyperlink, which will direct you to the Microsoft Login Portal for SCC:
2a) Enter your username once prompted, if you do not know your username, click the “Can’t access your account?” link (highlighted in the following screenshot).
2b) Click on “Work or School Account”
3a) Please enter the correct email in the textbox below “User ID”.
If you are a student, please make sure your email ends with @scc.stanly.edu while employees must end with @stanly.edu.
3b) Enter the characters from the Captcha picture in the textbox below. Click the Refresh button on the right below the speech button if the characters are unreadable. Click Next once finished.
4) On the “Get back into your account” page please select one of the verification options as shown in the screenshot below:

5a) Selecting the Email option: Click the “Email” button to send a verification code to an alternate email listed in the multi-step verification settings.
5b) You will need to access your alternate email and retrieve the code there which you will enter in the text box before being able to click on the “Next” button to proceed.
6a) Selecting the Text option: You will need to enter and match the mobile phone number that you have provided with the multi-step verification settings. Click Next to send a text to your phone number.
6b) Enter the verification code you have received in text and click the “Next” button to proceed.
7) Similar with Text option, you will need to enter the phone number that matches with the number you have provided with the multi-step verification settings. Click the “Call” button once completed. That phone number will receive a call, please answer the call to receive the verification code. Enter the verification code and click the “Next” button to proceed.
8) After completing 2 verification steps, you will be able to enter your new password and confirm it. Click the “Finish” button after making your new password. The new password needs to meet the following requirements:
At least 8 characters long
At least 1 Uppercase letter
At least 1 Lowercase letter
At least 1 Number
Cannot be a previously used password
Cannot contain any personal information such as your first name and last name.
